👋🏻 W E L L , H E L L O S T R A N G E R S. 👋🏻
I'm back.
Been a tough couple months. I'd struggled to get over Christmas physically and then my mental health took a battering. Was finally starting to get myself together again and then sadly we had a bereavement in the family which set me off again along with other stressors too.
Depression is hard to live with. It's took its toll this year already which hasn't been good and not the positive start I wanted.
BUT I'm slowly finding my mojo again. A couple of days ago I decided to open my sketchbook. This is what I made whilst swatching some new colours I got recently. It's a bit of a random mess and a clash but I wanted to share it anyway as it's the piece that has gotten my fingers busy again.
Done another couple of bits since and I'm gradually building my confidence back up.
I've also booked some events which is exciting.
Hoping to become more active on here again. I just weren't ready before now but I have missed my little community. Will try and start networking soon and replying to comments that I have neglected.
Thanks to all who are still here. If you see this post please drop a Hello below as my reach/algorithm will be f*cked 😂
Hope you're all okay 💜 Loves to you all 😘

Won't lie gang, finding life a bit of a struggle since Christmas. As always I try and keep it real on here of how my health is, so it can be my safe space as well as yours if you need some relatability.
I tend to run myself very thin getting commissions done, events etc alongside doing everything else family wise that the festive period demands and it often takes me weeks to fully recover from it both physically and mentally.
I often get resentful that I have to pay in terms of illness for having a nice time with my family. I wish I could just get up and carry on like most people and have more spoons in the tank than the very few I do have. Shout out if you're a fellow "spoonie" and get this reference. I only found out about this last year and absolutely love using it.
I'm trying to take it easy but it's been hard having two young & demanding children at home who are pushing every boundary atm. But alas, they are now back at school so hoping I can recuperate properly now. First day of them back and I've spend most of in bed, asleep. Think that says it all 🤣
Anywho, I don't like to be too negative on here but as always I try and be honest with the highs and lows of my journey which chronic illness plays a massive part. I'm all for spreading awareness as its not spoken about enough on how it can impact someone's life. If I told you the full extent of how Christmas has impacted me, this post would be a loooot longer but I just wanted to get it off my chest that I'm having a flare up.
Not a great start to the new year but unfortunately most years start in the same way for me as my body finds Christmas and any holiday break hard. Even the 'restful' going away holidays 🤦🏻♀️.
Because of this I usually take the whole of January off before even thinking about picking up a paintbrush as my body and mind need the break. So for the next few weeks I shall see how I go and just keep swimming in the meantime.
Love to you all ❤️
Here's a painting that I gifted to my Mother in Law for Christmas. It was inspired by a print by Hannah Cole that she saw on holiday but wanted her dog in it instead, so I changed it up slightly in my own style with her lovely king charles featuring. Done in watercolour.

Close up of this bespoke Log slice that was commissioned for Christmas. It ended up being the receivers favourite present 🥹 Not many better compliments than that!
Absolutely loved putting this together based off one of their own photos taken in Disneyland Paris. What a lovely way to remember their trip 😍.
Done in watercolour, in my loose impressionistic style. ❤️

Hey my lovely followers, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I certainly did.
I've been taking it easy as busy festivities don't mix well with chronic illness 😅.
Seeing these images after Christmas makes all the hard work and recovery worth it. 🥹 I have 3 commissions I want to show that I couldn't reveal until after Christmas which I'll be posting over the next week or so. One of them you can have a sneak peak of below 🥰
Looking forward to the new year and thinking about what new things I want to try. Not resolutions as such but things I want to aim for. Trying to not put too much pressure on myself and seeing where I go.
Lots of love and hope you all have a Happy New Year 😘

Here's a painting I gifted to a family member last year. It had a very important and special meaning 🥹
I need to do more elephants in the new year! 🐘

When your customer comes to collect their commission and gives you flowers because they're so grateful for their painting 🥹😭😭😭
Another journey highlight. I have the best customers, I'm soooo lucky 🩷
Shall post the commission tomorrow! And this also marks the end of my commissions for this year and what a way to finish, feeling appreciated and wholesome.
Thank you to everyone who has ordered or purchased from me this year. You make my heart happy.
Bring on 2026 😘
