In 2025, a record 4 million+ safe digging searches were carried out through LSBUD, helping protect more than 2.5 million kilometres of underground infrastructure across the UK.
But the risk remains. The HSE recorded 3,025 cable damage incidents and 1,033 gas-related pipeline incidents during the year.
