A narrow 5-6 defeat against πππππππππ α΄Κα΄ sΚα΄α΄
α΄α΄‘s πππ£βπ¨ πππ£π©ππ‘ ππππ‘π©π ππ§π€πͺπ₯ , in what was a terrific game of football against a great bunch of lads.
Things werenβt looking good when we turned up and the grass pitch had no lines on it. Undeterred, we fought our way onto the sand pitch instead and prayed to the injury gods that we would be okay.
In true Chillacticos fashion, we got absolutely thumped in the first half, going 6-1 down at half time. We showed tremendous character though, scoring 4 in the second half and we really couldβve had many more.
Special mentions to the following for missing some sitters:
- Sam (x2), including a completely open goal
- Joe, making Igor Thiago look clinical
- Frankie (skied)
- Steve, including a free kick routine so bad no else knew the routine
Some truly exceptional performances today. Matt was superb in the centre, despite obliterating one blokeβs crown jewels (sorry about that). Our fundraising for Asthma and Lung UK must be working, as Steve was able to play for more than his usual 10 mins and therefore grabbed a hattrick. Ed and Sam on the left side were excellent throughout despite, and I donβt know if Iβve mentioned this, Sam missing an open goal.
With no official MOTM the admin will put it to the people in the below poll, and for him itβs a toss up between Finn and Frankie. Moving Finn to CB completely changed the game, and Frankie was absolutely pivotal and gave his knee for the cause.
Thanks once more to πππππππππ α΄Κα΄ sΚα΄α΄
α΄α΄‘s πππ£βπ¨ πππ£π©ππ‘ ππππ‘π©π ππ§π€πͺπ₯ for a great game of football - looking forward to the next one!
All funds raised going to Asthma + Lung UK , total amount to be revealed soon!

Mansfield Mind FC 5-4 Chillacticos FC
Goal Scorers
Luke B, Matt, Chris L & Peej
A tough one yesterday, with half our team dropping last minute and the other half walking off the pitch battered and bruised. A very changed Mansfield Mind to what we were used to, wanted the win a bit more today. Huge shout out to Trav for stepping in between the sticks in the first half to bail us out and Eddie for whizzing over for the second half. We go again next week.

Some bits of tactical genius in store today as we play . Our RB is up front, our regista is our number 10 and our holding mids are our CBs.
Expect the unexpected.
Looking forward to a good game! Kick off at 2pm, all in support of

And the Chillacticos World Cup sweepstake is in!
Lance got France.
Matt got Argentina after wearing an Argentina shirt for the first time ever 2 days before the draw.
Steve, the organiser, got the tournament favourites.
The admin is reliant on Gyokesh*t.

Last nightβs 4-2 loss to makes it 3 losses from 3 in May - consistency is key! It truly was a great game though with a good bunch of lads.
In true Chillacticos fashion, we went 4-0 down. There are a lot of things we can blame that on. Us being in awe of the state of the art changing room. The fact that there was a wake being held by the side of the pitch. The constant blaring of the Oasis tribute band which made communication impossible.
We pulled 2 back though, Jennings with yet another goal and Shiels with a debatable goal/own goal.
There were a lot of firsts yesterday. This included:
- first assist
- first game against another team in a bright pink kit
- first time we have unleashed in the 10
- first ever streaker, who had a hell of a right foot on her
We also had an iconic miss-hit cross in true Paternoster fashion.
MOTM goes to the imperious Joe Green who is officially the best Joe on the team, covered every blade of grass and was a constant positive presence - he even covered ran the line with a smile on his face.
Best wishes go to Adam, who is our second fractured ankle in 2 matches - whoβll be next?!
This was our last game fundraising for - stay tuned for more on that.
Thanks again for a cracking game - until the next one!

Following last nightβs defeat to (more to follow on what was a cracking game), weβre disappointed to announce that Julian Alvarezβs much anticipated move to the Chillacticos has fallen through :(
Atletico Madrid had kindly accepted our offer of a round of drinks at The Crown, 2 free Wednesday night 7s games for the whole squad, and the chance to get a photo with our CEO.
We wish Julian all the best with wherever Fabrizio Romano says he is going to go.
