Final Table

Portugal 1 France 0

With yet another drab final to end proceedings at a major tournament, the few of you who were hoping for a France victory to propel you to a life of untold riches in the top 5 can, like the French, only dream of what could have been.

Portugal lifted the trophy after finishing 3rd out of four in their league & only winning 1 match in 90 minutes throughout the whole tournament. This taken into account must give the English hope that there is reward for failure in the new format.

Out of 171 entrants, we have a chosen one who predicted that Portugal would rise up, be victorious and prevail. Andi Brown is our predicting Messiah gathering the solitary 5 point haul in the last round to propel him to the lofty heights of 92nd place overall and is the only mover of the evening.

Billericay Town clinches 3rd spot, Grace Lowe 4th and Paul UKIP McGrath & Mick Glossop share the 5th prize. Mick kindly donating his to Treetops Hospice, so a big thanks to him.

An average score of 77.76 scored out of a possible 203 on offer for the competition, so if you scored 78 or above you are above average IQ. If you scored 77 or below you are a dunce!

Finally for those who are interested, Darren Stapleton will be in the Corn Mill car park this weekend having his man-bits chopped off by work colleague Lisa Mucznic having failed to beat her in the competition as promised. There will be a cheesy chipolata roll for sale immediately afterwards.

Final congratulations to Amanda Markin & Tony Hurst, who had already secured the top 2 spots and to all entrants who made it worthwhile doing, see you in 2018....................

Well it is now!

Whats the difference between a pile of s**t and the England team? Actually, very little apart from a pile of s**t becomes more useful as time goes by. In a week where England voted out of Europe and the team obliged. We also said goodbye to Sports Directs poster boy possibly playing his last game in goal for Hungary before he returns back home to the car wash at the end of our street, much the same as many of our competitors say goodbye to their hopes of winning anything in our competition.

Our Dr Emmett Browns, predicting 6 out of the 8 quarter finalists are Billericay Town, Mick Glossop, Paul UKIP McGrath, Alex Cope
Josh Wood, Dylan Mitchell, Malc Harrison, Mark Rimmington, Sean Lynch, Ben Stapleton, Lisa Searby, John Turnip Taylor, Mrs Turnip Taylor, Patrick Fearn, Mel Gould 1, Alex Rimmington & Ryan Markin ,

They can only ruffle their unkempt hair and tip their hats to our Spanish Soothsayer who becomes the Marty McFly of the round , Eduardo Moran, who returns back from the future with his predictions of 7 out of the 8 quarter finalists.

In the battle for Europes worst predictor at the foot of the table, a momentus day for Mini Cooper who moves off the bottom for the first time since day 1 to be replaced by Jake Parkin.

Billericay Town becomes our chief challenger to our ever present and long serving Queen Amanda, but there is there about to be a coup d'etat? Between you and me, our monarchs predicted winner left the tournament on the Costa Brava plane yesterday throwing the tournament wide open..................
