Hugo's

I am writing this message from a state of shock and with much sadness.
Most of you know my circumstances changed last year and with this change in circumstances, coupled with the cost of living crisis, both from a personal and professional aspect it’s no longer viable to keep the bar open.
This is not a decision I’ve taken lightly, I have explored all options and and opportunities and It’s taken a lot of time and consideration to come to this decision.
This will be our last week of trading. We will be open tonight, tomorrow (although we have a party!) so not sure how many more we will fit in!
We want to go out with a bang so we will be opening our doors one last time on Sunday from 4-6pm.
I want to thank the staff and all Hugo’s customer old and new .
Thank you to everyone for all of your support over the last 4 years. We’ve cried, laughed, made amazing friends and memories that last a lifetime!
Would love to see as many of you as possible for a final goodbye on Sunday.

It's shorthand for an “old-fashioned style whiskey cocktail”. In the 1800s a “cocktail” meant any combination of spirit, sweetener, and bitters (think old-timey patent medicines), and what we now call an Old Fashioned is simply a modern recreation of the original cocktail with modern ingredients.
