Watnall WI

Our Watnall WI Early Birds Group had a delightful visit to the Brinsley Animal Rescue Centre this morning. The weather was sparkling and the setting so relaxing and peaceful. We were shown round by one of the very knowledgeable volunteers and introduced to ponies, a blind cow and pig, a bull with a deformed jaw as well as pigs, ducks, goats and geese and more. Our tour ended with a visit to the rabbit hutches where some are waiting to be re-homed. The members of our group gave a generous donation, Visits are by appointment only.

Watnall WI Hall Bingo Night. For just £5 entrance and 50p per ticket you can join in with a light hearted evening's entertainment. Proceeds from bingo ticket sales generate the prizes. Tuesday 12 May starting at 7pm at the Watnall WI Hall, Main Road, Watnall, NG16 1HS. Book your tickets by emailing [email protected].

This month we were enthralled by a talk about the roles of women in WW2 given by Sian Trafford of the Nottingham Women's History Group. The talk proved very popular attracting 9 visitors and we welcomed 2 new members. Our Early Birds meeting on the 1 May is a visit to the Brinsley Animal Rescue Centre.
