🦁 “Meet me at the Lion’s” 🦁

My very first ever shadow/light box.
Also my very own design, which was purposely made for my father. The design has a very special meaning and a story behind it.

On my Mum and Dad’s first date back in the 1960’s they met outside the Nottingham Council House. If anyone knows Nottingham in the UK, it is a well known tradition to meet people at “The Lions”; two huge lion statues which are situated outside the council house, whether you are going on a date or just meeting friends.

My father told me that it was like a ‘Cinderella fairy tale’ moment when he met my mum and I wanted to capture that in a shadow box for him.

My mum passed away on the 19th October after only being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on the 31st August. She died within 6 weeks from diagnosis.
Crafting has kept me sane through these past few months which have been absolute hell; making something helps to take your mind off reality even if it’s for just a few moments.
