The face of the famous Resusci Anne CPR manikin was inspired by L'Inconnue de la Seine – "The Unknown Woman of the Seine."
According to the story, she was an unidentified young woman whose death mask became well known across Europe. Years later, her face was chosen for the Resusci Anne manikin, meaning that the face of an unknown woman has become one of the most "rescued" faces in the world.
Every time someone learns CPR, they're practising on a manikin with a fascinating piece of history behind it.
