Mc Dermott’s castle, designed in 1809/1810 was home to the Mc Dermott’s who ruled the area until the 17th century. It is nestled away on castle island in Lough key forest park. The castle came to ruins after a fire in 1957. For a much closer look at the castle and the surrounding areas be sure to hire a boat from Lough-key-boats it’s well worth the €35 for an hour. 🛶

Lough key forest park is also the home to 800 hectares of wonderful wood and parkland, with many walking trails, tree top canopy walks, and even a walkway through an underground tunnel.! But if your someone who’s up for a thrill or an adventure why not discover Lough key from a height.! offer a fun zip it course and a high rope experience for everyone to enjoy.! What a better way to end the day than with a coffee and treat from the cafe/restaurant with the grounds of the park itself. ☕

Whilst in Boyle be sure to check out King house and Boyle Abbey. ✌

Make sure to follow for more travel inspo!

Not only is Galway a vibrant student city with a host of award winning restaurants and pubs, it also has a great selection of quirky independent shops and galleries.

Its proximity to Connemara National Park 🏞️ makes it a great base for discovering all that West Galway has to offer, whilst also taking in the many stunning beaches along the Wild Atlantic Way. It really does have something for everyone.

So if you're done with pounding the prom, why not grab yourself a coffee, head down to the Claddagh, sit back, relax and watch the world go by. You might even spot a seal or two or if you're lucky the resident sea otter 🦭🦦

📍 Garnish Island, a must on your West Cork trip.🙌
📷 and Caption by

Garnish Island, is an island in Glengarriff harbour on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork

The Ferry departs from Glengariff Pier and costs €14pp and €2.50 on arrival. You get to stay 90mins on the island. It can only be booked 24hrs in advance.

(It takes roughly 10 mins to get to the island and if you’re lucky you might get to spot some seals along the way)

Its famous gardens are what attracts the crowds. The gardens on the island were designed by architect Harold Peto for the owner, John Annan Bryce who purchased the island from the War Office in 1910.

There is a number of paths around the garden and to the Martello Tower, which are outlined in a detailed map which you will receive on arrival.

The most outstanding part of the island is an Italian teahouse with colonnades, a pool and pavilion.

It was a little misty, but the views and walk around was still amazing. 👌

📍Carrigan Head Signal Tower, Donegal ☘

A view of Sleive League that we don't often see, the Carrigan Head Signal tower offers a unique perspective of Irelands dramatic coastline. The tower itself is on private land but can be admired from the road between the lower and upper carpark of Sleive League.

Around the corner is the magnificent Sleive League. The cliffs are among Europe's tallest sea cliffs, standing an incredible 609m High! It's worth bringing a pair of hiking boots, and following the breath taking rocky rail up the Pilgrims path. This is not for the faint hearted, and can be challenging, so be careful! 😀
