RSPCA certified and smoked in small batches in the secret smokery in Whitstable, Chris (‘the Native’) has a careful and particular eye for smoking fish. When we found him during initial testing, we knew we were one step closer to opening a proper bagel shop. Cos without Lox, it ain’t a bagel shop.

we process and dehydrate british onions and garlic in our kitchen. add organic black and white sesame, blue poppy seed, and coarse kosher salt *just* the right size .. 🙃

…and like all our bagels we use 100% flour; GMO, pesticide, herbicide free and made using sustainable and healthy farming practices that support biodiversity.

these pictures capture how far we’ve come since May 22, 2023. it’s still just the two of us, a husband and wife team. we are learning every day.

it’s been really really difficult but on good days we feel so lucky to be able to work together and meet new people. and when we get good feedback all the work is worth it. we are determined to stick it out and make Margate’s secret bagel shop a future institution.

from 05/01 we will open Friday - Monday, 10am - 4pm as normal until glorious summer returns 🥯🙏🏻

since we’ve opened we (and you!) have loved these seltzers. natural flavours, low calorie, vegan. they bang with a bagel.

so for our New Year’s offering we’re stocking their Spritz range - lightly spiked with Junmai saké, rosé, or sauvignon blanc.

expect to see more of them for our special events in 2024.

🎄✨hey yo very excited to announce another house guest for this holiday season - Margate caffeine sorcerers will join us @ 24 King St to offer up an array of tempting seasonal beverages, boozy coffee, and proper hot choccy

from 20/12 to 27/12 every day from 10am we will also be goofing behind them and serving Jenn’s silver dollar pancakes by the stack with dulce de leche butter, bacon, biscoff crumbs, whipped cream etc etc 😎

😎🥯 We will be going strong serving breakfast and lunch on our hand-rolled NYC bagels until 5th December when we take a quick break for some sleep.
