BLACK FRIAR’S ANNUAL PIE FESTIVAL WHERE THOUSANDS ARE MADE AND SOLD EVERY YEAR RETURNS
The Black Friar's annual pie festival has been going since 2021, and it’s a sure-fire way to banish those January blues.
Head Chef Ben Chaplin has created a menu featuring both comforting classics and avant garde creations this year, priced at £10 each, with sides at £3.
You’ll find four favourites at the centre of it all, including a vegan-friendly mushroom keema pie topped with an onion bhaji and a confit garlic chicken and leek pie.
There’s also a truffle dauphinoise pie, and a traditional meat and potato pie, which will be supplemented by changing specials like a breakfast pie, lasagne pie, and even a pigeon pie.
You can also grab a huge sharing pie to be enjoyed by up to four people, choosing from the fillings above, or the likes of ox cheek and bone marrow or confit garlic chicken - you need to pre-order these 24 hours in advance.
And the best thing about this January offering is it runs all through February too…
