đź’ˇLighting changes everything.đź’ˇ
Here I’m installing concealed LED coving to create a soft architectural glow that lifts the entire hallway. No harsh fittings. No visible strips. Just clean lines and controlled light that makes the space feel expensive.
This is the difference between “a light in the ceiling” and a designed lighting scheme.
The most perfect time to plan this? During a rewire.
When the ceilings are open and cables are being run anyway, that’s when you design properly. You position drivers correctly. You plan switching intelligently. You layer the lighting. You future proof it. Trying to add this later is always more disruptive and more expensive.
If you are investing in a rewire and you are not thinking about lighting design, you are missing the biggest opportunity in the property.
I offer dedicated lighting design consultations for ÂŁ250.
That includes: • A full walk through of your property
• Layered lighting strategy per room
• Feature lighting recommendations
• Practical layout planning for rewires
• Honest advice on where to spend and where not to
Good lighting is not an add on. It is what makes the finish feel high end.
If you are planning a rewire and want your home to look and feel on another level, message me to book your consultation.
KWH Electrical ⚡️⚡️
When I carry out an EICR, it’s not a five minute visit where I press a few buttons, fill the form in the van and disappear.
I properly inspect and test the electrical installation, then provide a clear video explaining what I’ve found in plain English. I’ll show what’s right, what’s wrong, why it’s wrong, and how it can be rectified. This avoids confusion, protects you as the landlord, and creates a clear record of the condition of the installation at the time of inspection.
You’ll then receive a full EICR certificate confirming whether the installation is satisfactory or unsatisfactory, along with a clear breakdown of any remedial works required.
EICR codes explained simply
C1
Immediate danger. The installation is unsafe and needs fixing straight away. This is the electrical equivalent of driving with no brakes. There is a real risk of electric shock or fire and it cannot be ignored.
C2
Unsafe and needs correcting, but not an emergency at this exact moment. Think bald tyres or a brake warning light. You might still be driving, but it needs sorting before it turns into something more serious.
C3
Not unsafe, but not up to current standards. Like an older car with no airbags. It works, but improvements are recommended to make the installation safer and reduce future risk.
The aim is clarity, compliance, and peace of mind. You’ll know exactly where you stand, what needs doing, and why. No pressure, no confusion, no nonsense.
EICR testing starts from ÂŁ250.00
