Withington Community Kitchen

Our final summer kitchen shone out with bold flavours and a big turnout! ☀️

We got another big shipment from our favourite community growers Albemarle Allotment Manchester🪏

This time our chefs whipped up a rich and spiced Chicken Biryani 🍚 🍗 paired with a Tangy Cucumber and Tomato salad 🥗 🍅

For dessert was a homemade Rhubarb-Apple Crumble w/ whipped cream & Greengage (Plum) Sorbet. 🍏🥧

Lots of love & thanks to all the kitchen helpers, those setting out and tidying up and visitors who brought the atmosphere and energy.🥄🧹✨

At our last session we pulled out all the stops again for a Kurdish delicacy called Dolma! ❤️☀️💚

Juicy courgettes, aubergines & onions grown by Albemarle Allotment Manchester stuffed with fried rice, layered with stuffed vine leaves and stewed in a rich tomato sauce. Absolutely divine!

Big thank you to the kitchen squad that put together this mammoth dish!

Another week, another quality local-grown scran! 🌾🪏

As the summer rolls into its peak Albemarle Allotment Manchester supplied us with a wealth of Withy-grown courgettes, potatoes, green beans, rhubarb and herbs 🥒🫛.

So we made some delicious crispy & herby courgette and potato fritters paired with our in-house rhubarb chutney and a tangy balsamic-dressed salad. 🥗 💥

We pulled the stops out for the dessert too with a freshly baked Victoria Sponge, strawberries and whipped cream topped with a homemade Mandarin sorbet! 🍓 🍊 🍰

Many thanks again to all the kitchen helpers (love to the deep frying squad 🥇) and everyone else for bringing the atmosphere and community joy.
