GLP-1’s
Right… a post I’ve been wanting to write for a while
I support them.
BUT… from my learnings so far… no I can’t help you AFTER you come off them.
I can 100% help you before or during.
My experience to date…
Women who’ve struggled for a long time with weight are using them and I totally understand.
But then they reach their target and one of two things:
1) they worked on habit change but they weren’t prepared for the rampant return of appetite & food noise
Or
2) they used them as an appetite suppressant, ate very limited amounts and now the weight gain is rapid and they don’t know what to do
(There is of course a 3rd category, people who changed their habits managed all of these rebound symptoms and don’t need my help so they don’t contact me… that’s why they’re not mentioned here. I’m not saying it doesn’t work for some people.)
If you have good nutritional knowledge, you know how to get your protein. You have regular exercise habits and use GLP ones to help manage appetite mindset an addictive Food behaviour as whilst you’re losing weight you probably don’t need my help.
But… if you’re using them to eat as little as possible to lose weight as quickly as possible I fear for what will happen when you stop.
These are the desperate messages I’m receiving from women. How can you help me?
And the sad answer as I can’t.
Nothing I can help you with will feel as easy as a medication.
So this is my request to you… if you’re thinking about going onto GLP-1’s, and you don’t know how to eat high-protein or build solid exercise habits come and talk to me first.
