Well who knew that learning to throw clay and DITD had things in common?! Surprised me too… Last Friday I spent the morning with 2 of my oldest dearest friends at the in Hulme being tutored by the lovely Tom of it’s our 2nd time, and again, we loved it. What struck me was how much better my technique was when I looked away or closed my eyes so I relied solely on touch. We live such busy lives, with constant access to screen time filling any boredom gaps, it brought it home how disconnected I can get from myself until I’m forced to really tune in. We had a great laugh, felt accomplished & uplifted by the end, the 2 hours flew by. A similar thing happens at DITD, submerged in darkness I think it helps me to experience the music differently, hearing all the layers and allowing my body to move and groove in a way I’d likely feel self conscious about if I knew people could see me. It’s not necessary to speak to anyone yet it still feels a positive shared experience. I always finish the hour feeling tuned in to my mood & it’s usually improved! Try it, remove one of your senses and see what magic unfolds 🙈🙉🙊…But not when crossing the road or operating machinery, be safe guys, maybe just come for a boogie at DITD instead! xx

NO DITD this week, 8th March 2023. SORRY! The builders have been on the phone again, bigger job than they thought, it's still not finished.
