“I’m pregnant again… but I’m scared because I’ve been here before.” 💔
Pregnancy after loss can come with so many emotions. Excitement, hope, but also fear.
Some women who experience repeated miscarriages in the second trimester may have a condition called cervical insufficiency, where the cervix starts to open too early during pregnancy.
For some women, a cervical cerclage (cervical stitch) may be recommended to help support the pregnancy.
Not every miscarriage is caused by this, but if you’ve had recurrent miscarriages, especially after the first trimester, please speak to your doctor. You may need further assessment and a personalised plan 🤍

Recurrent UTIs can be frustrating and can really affect your quality of life 💛
Simple measures that may help reduce the risk include:
💧 Staying well hydrated
🚽 Passing urine after s*x
🩲 Wearing breathable cotton underwear and avoiding tight clothing
🌙 Allowing good ventilation at night if comfortable
Some commonly used remedies, such as potassium citrate, do not have good evidence to show they prevent recurrent UTIs.
For women around perimenopause or menopause, low oestrogen levels can contribute to recurrent UTIs and some may benefit from vaginal oestrogen. In some cases, preventative antibiotics may be considered.
Most recurrent UTIs are not due to anything serious, but it’s important to speak to a healthcare professional, especially if symptoms keep returning or you notice red flags like blood in your urine, unexplained weight loss, or persistent unusual symptoms.
