7 stone 8 lbs melted away since November — We are 66 and 60, and the GP was blunt: “George, your blood pressure is a scream for help. You’re a walking heart attack waiting to happen, and you’re taking your wife down with you.”
Happy 18th February. Today, I don’t wake up wondering if this is my last day. Back in November, that fear was my shadow. I’d see my wife looking at me with those worried eyes every time I got out of breath just hoovering the stairs. My cholesterol was "off the charts," and I felt like my blood was turning into thick, stagnant sludge. I was carrying nearly 20 stone, and I was terrified of leaving her alone.
The GP was terrifyingly honest. He told me the visceral fat around my middle was "strangling" my heart. I felt a deep, biting shame. I’ve been married to this woman for 35 years, and I was heading for a "blue light" emergency that would break our family. We tried the low-fat spreads and the "heart-healthy" cereals from the supermarket, but we just got heavier and more exhausted.
Everything changed when we learned about Arterial Irrigation. A medical report explained that for men my age, the body loses the ability to flush fat from the bloodstream because the "metabolic drain" is jammed. We weren't failing our diets; our bodies were failing to clear the waste.
After 14 days: The "tightness" in my chest eased. I could take a full, deep breath.
After 8 weeks: My wife had dropped 2 stone, and I was down nearly 4 stone. The grey tint in my skin was gone.
Today: We are 7 stone 8 lbs lighter combined. My latest check-up was "the best in years." We’ve been given a second chance.
I’ve pinned the link to the report below. If you’re living in fear of your own heart, read this now. x

Our GP went quiet, looked at the screen, and said: “I don’t see couples in their 60s turn things around like this.”
I’m 66 and my wife, Karen, is 62. Last year I genuinely thought we were sliding into “old age mode” early. I was around 119kg, blood pressure creeping up, waking up exhausted, snoring so badly Karen started sleeping with extra pillows just to cope. Stairs became a negotiation. Halfway up I’d stop and pretend I was “just catching my breath” while my heart hammered like I’d run a sprint.
Karen wasn’t okay either. Menopause completely flattened her. Puffy face, swollen fingers in the morning, heavy aching legs, hip pain, brain fog… and that drained look that makes you seem older than you are. She kept saying she’d “let herself go” and I hated that, because I could see it wasn’t willpower. It was like her body was stuck in inflammation.
We did what everyone tells you to do. Porridge. Smaller portions. Low-fat spreads. Walk after tea. Cut treats. Cut carbs. Cut anything that made life feel normal.
Nothing moved. Not properly. The scale barely changed and our confidence disappeared. We became the couple who quietly say no to plans because walking is too much and sitting down feels like relief.
Then I found a long investigative article about toxic biofilm — basically metabolic waste that blocks hormone signals, drives inflammation and keeps fat glued on after 55. It described our symptoms so accurately it made me angry. Like… why has nobody explained this?
So we followed the protocol for 90 days.
I lost 31kg. Karen lost 22kg — 53kg between us. But the bigger win was what it did to our lives. Karen stopped waking up in pain. I stopped feeling like my heart was working overtime just for basic chores.
At the follow-up the GP reran the bloods twice, stared at the numbers and said: “Keep doing whatever you’re doing.” Then he asked me to send him the report.
