Very proud of being part of Dementia Friends.

This tells the story of why I do what I do ❤️

“My Mum, Sue, went into a care home when she was about 65 years old due to mobility problems related to Multiple Sclerosis. Towards the end of her life, she exhibited signs of dementia as well. She always taught me to be kind and polite, and she always inspired me to sing from a young age.

“Mum asked me to sing in her care home a few times, then word of mouth spread and I got asked to sing in other care homes, and so my care home entertainment business ‘Sassy Grey Singer’ was formed in 2021! Both my mum and dad always actively encouraged my singing hobby as I used to be very shy as a child. When I sing now, I can get emotional as it reminds me so much of them.

“I was inspired to become a Dementia Friend through my interactions with the residents in the care homes. The Dementia Friends video showed how dementia may impact the daily life of someone living with the condition and how a little understanding can make a big difference."

I've had a lovely week on my jollies visiting my partners family in Spain (and eating my weight in baguette and Alioli 🫠)

I'll be back on Saturday 30th May with some more VE Day style shows at:
🇬🇧 11am at Rock Cottage Care Home in Brown Edge
🇬🇧 2pm at Wilbraham House in Audley ❤️

Then my "Mrs Carlton-Wright" wig will go in the box, and the props for my Summer show "Sun and Smiles" will come out! 😊🌞 what will they beeee? Clue: 🪇

I've been asked by multiple venues to book in for 2027 so here is the announcement:

☀️☀️2027 BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN!☀️☀️

Some sessions have already been requested and I will share a specific timetable/booking form ASAP.

Shows will include:
Easter - March bank holiday weekend
VE Day - 8th/9th May
Summer - Selected weekends across July/August
Christmas - 4th, 11th and 18th December.

ADDITIONALLY ❤️I have had 2 bookings for Valentines Day so there is an 11am session AVAILABLE! I did not perform on that date this year ❤️
