Talent Education
Something a bit different last week 馃
Talent Education helped bring a specialist bird show into one of our schools, giving pupils a day many of them might never have had the chance to experience otherwise.
The whole school got involved, with sessions tailored to different groups.
Pupils with additional needs had their own display, seeing the birds up close and watching the hawks fly right by them. The smiles said it all 馃ス
Other year groups took part in adapted sessions too, so that the day was accessible, engaging and meaningful for everyone.
Supporting schools has always gone beyond recruitment, and days like this are part of a bigger goal: to positively impact 5,000 children's lives across Greater Manchester by 2027.
Building real relationships and giving back to the schools and communities we work with means everything to us 馃挋

Our ice cream van is back out across Greater Manchester 馃槑馃崷
Over this summer term we will be visiting schools and delivering over 1,500 ice creams to children and staff.
Not only is it one of the small things we do that tends to bring a genuine moment of joy to a school day, but it also connects to something bigger.
At Talent Education, our mission is to positively impact 5,000 children's lives across Greater Manchester by 2027.
Keep an eye out for us this term!

Over 32,000 people started teacher training this year, which can sound like a crowded field to walk into, but for the right subjects it really isn't.
The DfE missed its secondary recruitment targets in 13 of 18 subjects last year, with physics hitting just 31% of target, computing 37% and modern foreign languages 43%, meaning schools are not waiting around for those candidates.
The financial side reflects that, with bursaries of 拢29,000 on offer for chemistry, computing, maths and physics trainees in 2026-27, and early career teachers in shortage subjects at eligible schools able to claim targeted retention payments of up to 拢6,000 tax-free per year.
Greater Manchester is one of the busier regions outside London for school recruitment and schools here are already lining up September 2026 appointments, so the teachers having conversations now tend to get more choice than the ones who wait until summer to start looking.
If you're newly qualified and weighing up your options, it's worth understanding what your position in this market actually is before you commit to the first offer that comes along.
Talent Education works with early career teachers across Greater Manchester, and we're happy to have a conversation about what's out there.
