People living or travelling near Knole Park in , are no longer advised to close windows and doors, following smoke from vegetation alight.

⚠️Crews are advising people living or working near Knole Park in Sevenoaks to please close windows and doors due to smoke coming from vegetation alight. If you are travelling in and around this location, crews are also advising people to avoid the area.

Four fire engines and a UTV is currently in attendance, crews are making good progress to extinguish the fire.

Please share this information with any loved ones in the area who may be affected but do not have access to the internet.

The leading causes of accidental grass fires in and are:

👉 barbecues - often when used too close to trees or bushes
👉 bonfires - often when built too big, too close to bushes or buildings, and not supervised
👉 ci******es - often when carelessly thrown away while hot
