Yes! We're in !

Bob Eckhart, our Co-Head of Programmes, landed in Lagos, and Osunbiyi Yusuf Olatunji was there to welcome him. Barely time to feel the jet lag before it already felt like home.

Next stop? Jollof rice at the guest house. Somehow it always shows up when there's something worth celebrating.

Today marks the start of our , , and Readiness programme (6 –10 July) at the University of Lagos, and we're looking forward to a full week ahead.

Today marks the last day of our three-week intensive teaching in . Our volunteer professors led sessions on AI ethics, AI in the classroom, AI for entrepreneurship and Bayesian Networks for faculty members, researchers, graduate assistants, AI Student Champions, and students.

Dr Joy Mutegi explored what responsible AI use looks like in education and research, closing her sessions by asking participants to set one goal for the next 30 days.

Prof. Jawad Khan challenged faculty and students to think beyond the technology itself and consider what role AI should play in the classroom. One recurring theme was the importance of agreeing early in the semester on how AI would be used in learning and assessment.

Prof. Ernest Fokoue used Bayesian Networks and macroeconomic data to show that the strongest relationships between variables often run through a third variable hiding in plain sight.

Our thanks to Academic City University and the School of Economics at the University of Cape Coast for hosting this programme with such warmth.

Here are a few moments from the past three weeks.
