Not every ground screw installation is the same… 🔩
This time we headed to London for a school project that required a different approach.
Rather than using our handheld installation equipment, we brought in an excavator-mounted installation head to efficiently install the ground screws across the site.
Different project. Different machinery. The same precision-engineered foundation.
Whether it’s a garden room, house extension or large-scale commercial development, we always use the right installation method for the job.
If you’re looking for a faster, cleaner alternative to traditional concrete foundations, we’d love to hear about your project.

Would you risk it? 🤔
Every construction project comes with decisions.
Some can cost you time.
Some can cost you money.
Some can delay your build before it’s even started.
Swipe through these real-life scenarios and ask yourself…
Which foundation would you choose?
From restricted access and bad weather to tight deadlines and unexpected ground conditions, ground screws solve challenges that traditional foundations often can’t.
How many scenarios did you choose ground screws for? 👏🏼
Let us know your score in the comments, and if you’ve got a project coming up, tell us what you’re building and we’ll let you know if ground screws are the right fit.

Think ground screws are just for garden rooms? Think again. 🔩
This project is proof they’re so much more than that.
We’re installing 10 ground screws to create the foundations for a house extension, ready for one of our exclusive Modu Bases to be fitted on top – available only through us here in the UK.
Whether you’re building an extension, garden room, annexe or commercial structure, ground screws offer a fast, reliable and cost-effective alternative to traditional concrete foundations.

One of our biggest client savings to date… 💰🔩
This project is a perfect example of why ground screws aren’t just a faster alternative to concrete, they can also save you a substantial amount of money.
For this back garden sauna and spa, we installed 10 x 1.2m ground screws and carried out all the required compression testing for just £2,000.
Even after supplying and installing the steel frame, the total foundation package came to between £6,000–£7,000.
The cheapest quote our client received for a traditional concrete raft?
Well in excess of £20,000.
By choosing a ground screw foundation instead, they saved over 50% on their foundations alone, without compromising on strength, engineering, or performance.

Would you rather…?
If you had the choice, which foundation would you pick?
⬅️ Traditional concrete
➡️ Ground screws
Both will support your project but the way they get there is very different.
Ground screws can be installed in a matter of hours, are ready to build on the same day, create minimal mess and excavation, and can even be removed and reused if needed.
Concrete? It gets the job done, but it often means more digging, more waiting, and more disruption before you can start building.
Swipe through, compare the two, and let us know which you’d choose in the comments.

Can rocks stop a ground screw installation? 🪨
It’s one of the questions we’re asked most…
“What happens if you hit a rock?”
The truth is, it depends on the size and type of rock.
Smaller rocks? Our equipment can often work straight through them.
Larger boulders or solid bedrock? We don’t just give up. We assess the obstruction, adjust the screw position if possible, or use alternative solutions to keep your project moving.
Every site is different, which is why we carry out thorough ground assessments before installation and have experienced installers who know how to deal with unexpected ground conditions.
Ground screws are designed to work in a huge range of ground types, so hitting a rock doesn’t automatically mean your project can’t go ahead.

One of our biggest client savings yet… 💰🔩
This project is a perfect example of why ground screws aren’t just an alternative to concrete, they’re often the smarter solution.
For this build, everything was fully approved: including planning, building control, and all the necessary engineering to replace what would have been a 400mm concrete raft.
The original concrete foundation alone was quoted at over £40,000… and that’s before the additional costs even begin.
With a traditional concrete raft, you’d still need to install insulation on top and then pour a screed before you could continue building.
Instead, we installed a ground screw foundation with a steel frame. The insulation fits within the steel frame, and the floor can then be boarded directly on top, eliminating multiple stages of the build.
✅ Significant cost savings
✅ Faster installation
✅ Less disruption on site
