Berginald Rash, Clarinet

It's been a while since I've done one of these but I needed (and probably still need) some time away from social media. It can all be a bit much.
De todos modos... Here's a snapshot of what I'll be up to over the next little while, not a definitive list, but a cute lil offering. If you're around and able do come along! You're more than welcome 🤗

fractured rhapsody
Promises broken, life and livelihood lost, fractured rhapsody is the excavation, dissection and interrogation of post-traumatic joy - siloed, singular, surpassing understanding and broken. It illuminates unspoken revolution, the tempered and shuttered release, ecstasy, catharsis amidst a shattered covenant that yields splintered shards of incongruous peace and malaise, hope and regret. Featuring the works of Stefan L. Smith, Jessie Montgomery, James Lee III, Iván Enrique Rodriguez, Laura Vega, Dolores Serrano Cueto, Raymond Yiu and the Irish premiere of Joseph Hallman’s Duet for clarinet and harp, is this rhapsodically fractured program unfettered bliss and tumult or the facade of the former in the face of the latter? You decide.

Ahead of the 2025 festival - Berginald presents Bombast! I had the privilege of sitting down with Luke Clancy and discussing everything from the upcoming premiere of Joseph Hallman's Clarinet Concerto to the role of individuals to step in and step up to ensure the health, longevity and visibility of creatives of colour.
