*Erica Marks, CEO Attends House of Commons Discussion*

Last week Erica Marks was delighted to attend a panel discussion at the House of Commons on the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.

A huge thank you to Sarah ChampionMP for hosting and for a great panel discussion about and the reforms which are pledged to happen and urgently needed.

The attending colleagues from included The Survivors Trust, Fay Maxted, Lucy Duckworth, Christine (Chris) Tuck (one of the panellists), Mags Godderidge, and Daisy Anderson. Grateful thanks also to the other panellists John O'Brien CBE, David Greenwood, Dr Baroness Helen Newlove LLD (hc) DCL, and Jane Seynior, all of whom brought different and valuable perspectives to the MPs, members of the House of Lords, survivors, and providers in the room. Special mention to BBC News, ITV, The Guardian, and The Observer who sent journalists to discuss and record the issues with us after.

We are reliant on cross-party and cross-media co-operation to put safeguarding measures in place to protect our children, and help survivors heal. Most child sexual abuse happens behind closed doors, by someone known to the child, and often in their family, so creating a system and processes to support the recommendations made by Professor Alexis Jay and her team is our urgent goal.

*What is being done to end child sexual abuse*

Read Erica Marks' latest blog here: https://jsas.org.uk/sexualabuseandsexualviolenceweek-2025-what-is-being-done-to-end-child-sexual-abuse/

"There is so much work being done to end child sexual abuse, reduce the harm it has caused (the statistics support that we have millions of survivors or child sexual abuse in the UK), and educate and protect current and future generations of children..."
