Classics and classics with a twist have been a theme this week, including two particularly inventive uses for hash browns: tucked inside fluffy bao buns and serving as the vehicle for the most authentically oh là là steak tartare we've had this side of Paris.

All eyes will be on Sloane Square next month for the arrival of Brasserie Olivia, the first international outpost from acclaimed French restaurant group La Nouvelle Garde. Like the group's stylish brasseries across Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux and Lyon, Brasserie Olivia will be a celebration of French dining, born from La Nouvelle Garde's mission to preserve the French art de vivre and usher in a new golden age of the classic French brasserie.
Brasserie Olivia officially opens on 9 July, but CODE members are invited to get an exclusive first look from 27 June to 1 July, with 50% off food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Expect French classics including galette complète, steak frites, cassoulet, soupe à l'oignon, crème brûlée and crêpes Suzette, alongside luxurious seafood dishes such as oysters served from the counter and freshly cooked lobster selected from the restaurant's lobster tank. Then slip downstairs to Venus Bar, the restaurant's hidden speakeasy and vinyl bar, for a final drink.
