How to find a missing angle around a point.

Here is a snapshot of some of the lessons that have taken place this week.
My 7 year old student in Japan wrote a short narrative based on The Wind in the Willows. He independently used the new vocabulary he learnt from reading the book. My student in Hong Kong worked on homographs and started to plan a suspense story. We discussed how the use of figurative language can elevate a piece of writing and make it more vivid for the reader.

๐งฎ Year 5 11+ Maths Prep
Today my 1-1 student worked on finding missing angles on a straight line and around a point. He was able to apply his knowledge when tasked with a multi-step word problem after spending time talking through the problem and working out what steps to take. His confidence has skyrocketed recently and Iโm really proud of how far he has come. !

I have been working with this boy for just over a year. In that time he has gone from learning to blend to reading short chapter books and answering inference questions and being able to write short, descriptive narratives. Iโm very proud of his progress!

Here is a snapshot of some of the great learning that has taken place this week. My 7 year old student in Japan ๐ฏ๐ต has been working on his comprehension skills while reading The Wind in the Willows. Only 10 months ago he was learning to blend sounds so his progress has been incredible!
My 11 year old student in Hong Kong ๐ญ๐ฐ is preparing for the UKiSET. We have been building his vocabulary to support verbal reasoning and comprehension skills.
