Tuesday's Child

Yesterday we had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Eclipse's 20th anniversary concert. It was so much fun and the most cohesive we have felt in our performance as a quartet.

The countdown is now on for our next big event....prelims!

How lucky are we to have had the opportunity to spend the morning going over our prelims package with the one and only, Blair Brown! Not only is she so talented and knowledgeable in all things performance, but she's also such a kind and genuine person, and in this one session, she has helped us to believe in ourselves and the power of the music we make. Thank you, Blair! You're exactly what we needed! ❤️

As we start preparing for Prelims 2026, we had our very first zoom coaching session, with the lovely and very talented Karen Lillywhite - Vocal Coach & Performer

She helped us navigate some tricky sections in our balled, reminded us that singing gently doesn't mean singing slowly(!) and gave us the confidence boost we needed! Thank you, Karen ❤️

And of course we finished with tea and cake (it was apparently "Dolly's first birthday")!

A few weeks late but at least the post has still gone up within the same year 😆

After a little break due to illness and general life getting in the way, Tuesday's Child were very excited to perform at the Capital Connection Christmas Concert along with our chorus pals in Eclipse and Cannon Lane Primary School choir. We had so much fun learning and singing our new Christmas song as well as performing our uppie again! Thank you to the lovely audience and to Debi Cox for some much appreciated coaching! 🎄

Cake and music can only mean one thing - Tuesday's Child had our first rehearsal after 4 months! It's been a busy summer with illness, holidays and work travel but we had a great catch up last night to plan our priorities for the rest of the year...and beyond! Watch this space!

Unfortunately, due to illness, we've had to pull out of next week's prelims competition 😢.

We took our new uppie for a spin at today’s local Save Sunday Music singout—and what a perfect warm-up this was for our very first prelims (5 weeks and 6 days... but who’s counting?! 😅).

We had a fantastic afternoon singing as a quartet and with our chorus, and listening to the beautiful (Partial) Eclipse. 🥰

We had a wonderful day out at the Milton Keynes Festival of Arts yesterday where we had the opportunity to compete as a quartet for the first time....and the icing on the cake was winning the Barbershop Quartet category! 🥳

It was another lovely bonding experience for us as a quartet and great stage experience ahead of prelims in June! Our chorus were of course as encouraging and supportive as always, and we honestly do believe we have the best chorus pals anyone could ever have! ❤️

We had our first coaching session of 2025 today with the talented Debi Cox! It was very productive and she helped us with some tricky chords in our ballad, and also introduced us to the concept of "chair resonance" (completely made up but very accurate technical term 😆). Yesterday was our debut performance at Capital Connection Christmas Concert! It was such an amazing feeling to perform on stage after months of hard work! Thank you so much to everyone in the audience that cheered us on, even when nerves got in the way of finding starting notes (it was definitely the pitch pipe's fault! 😆) but also a special thank you and 🫶🏽 to our lovely chorus who have been so incredibly supportive and encouraging, it really means a lot! 💕
