Small business owners are some of the most inspiring people I know. They’re clear about their goals, and work their way amidst limited support. Engaging with them taught me about grit, resilience, and resourcefulness.

In this recent conceptual paper in the Journal of Social Impact in Business Research, I discuss how the integration of design thinking and generative AI can help small businesses sustain, innovate, and grow.

The idea is built on my collaborations with local business founders and testing the LUMA Method with them. As much as AI helps, however, it’s no replacement for human judgment. It can make things better, but not without the founder's instinct.

Over the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to meet many amazing individuals who studied while working full-time. These encounters also taught me about their balancing act in juggling family, work, and study. Now that I’m in higher education myself, I discuss in this Times Higher Education article the small changes that institutions can make to make the journey more seamless.
