Few restaurants in London do what Goodman does, and fewer still have been doing it so consistently for so long. Since 2008, their classy Mayfair flagship site has quietly become somewhat of an institution, as much for their dry-aged USDA and grass-fed British beef as for their extensive wine and drinks programme led by Shane McHugh. His lists showcase a deep-dive into premium artisanal American wine with much to discover, sitting casually alongside the world’s very best and most respected Chateaux and European, off the beaten track gems. Classic, old school hospitality at its best, you’ll be very well taken care of, not least if you make it to knife-holder status. Time to notch up those visits…
