I used to give discovery calls for free. I thought it would help me practise speaking to clients, build my confidence and build trust help more people say yes. Instead, it created the opposite effect. The people who booked calls were rarely the ones who moved forward – instead they wanted reassurance, ideas, direction, confidence and often a whole plan, but very few had any intention of becoming clients!

I was training people to see my time as something they could take without commitment. The took my confidence and they NEVER, EVER signed up! NOT ONE! (why would they when I’d give everything away for free…)
