Rest in Peace to a true visionary, David Hockney 🎨

“I was lucky enough to attend the Royal College of Art with David - he was a cool third year student when I was in my first year. His early 1961 paintings at university such as ‘A Grand Procession of Dignitaries painted in Semi-Egyptian style’ inspired one of my first ever print designs, ‘Medals,’ which later developed into ‘Top Brass’ for Heals.

David was a wonderful, warm Yorkshire man who lived and breathed his work. I later got to know him better when I was back and forth to Los Angeles for work. He did pencil drawings like no other and was an observer of the world who lived his art. Anytime I visited, he would always be talking about his next project.

No other artist in this world can draw like David. He will be remembered as an absolute visionary and a master of draftsmanship. He effortlessly captured the Californian spirit, and along with his love of nature and landscapes, the essence of the British Countryside.

May he forever be remembered, and may his legacy live on through his incredible work.”
