Netball Development Trust - Making A Difference Through Netball

Two big shout outs today:
You'll have seen (our last post) that we were mentioned in the BBC London Marathon coverage on Sunday, all thanks to Hannah who was running for us - she raised LOADS of money and we're so grateful and very proud of her.
Last week Fusion Netball Club (Leeds) ran a fundraiser for us too. They invited parents, siblings and friends to play netball for the evening, as well as having a raffle and a cake bake.
Thank you both for being brilliant!

This 'International Day of Sport for Development and Peace' (IDSDP) on 6 April is an opportunity to showcase the role of sport to drive social change and community development.
NDT is not only delivering 'on-the-ground' programmes to our kids, letting them play netball and learn about their health. We are involved in 'bigger' conversations with partners.
* Our Kenya team were invited to speak at Kibabii University about sport for development. They are seen as local experts in the field.
* Our UK team are in discussion with Universties and Government officials on the use of sport for diplomacy.
* Our Uganda team is collaborating with local stakeholders debating the stigma around menstrual hygiene and creating safe spaces for girls.
Sport is more than just a game. It neutralises and equalises communities. It brings joy and teaches life skills.
Long may it continue.

On this International Women's Day (8 March), we want to thank and praise our incredible Board of Trustees. We are delighted to be led by such strong female leaders, from different life experiences and perspectives - we're very lucky to have them (and our lovely male Trustee too, of course!)
We love the diversity of what they bring to NDT: their opinions, their experiences, their challenges.
Thank you to you all.

Fancy a summer adventure? Giving back to others? Sharing your passions?
Come to Uganda and Kenya with us and work with our volunteers for a few weeks.
Travelling volunteers needed
We'd like a team of volunteers to join us this summer (early July) to visit our teams in Uganda and Kenya.
You'll work alongside local coaches and health leaders sharing experiences and skills. You'll pass on your knowledge and learn plenty in return. You'll self-fund (we can help with fundraising ideas). And, for sure, you'll have an adventure.
