Earlier this year, Horsham Park was protected in perpetuity through the Fields in Trust scheme, a milestone made possible with the invaluable guidance and support of Fields in Trust, who generously provided their expertise and legal assistance free of charge.

Now, we’d love to give something back.

Our goal is to raise £1,000 to help Fields in Trust continue supporting communities across the UK in protecting their parks and green spaces for the future.

Rooted Connections CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise working to improve lives through creative, intergenerational and nature-based initiatives at the walled garden in Worden Park in Leyland, Lancashire. 🌱

What was once a neglected space is now becoming a place of learning, wellbeing, food production and connection. 💚

We have legally protected a 1-hectare section of the park – the King George V Playing Field – since 1961, which is now home to a children’s play area. We hope the local authority will consider placing the rest of Worden Park under Fields in Trust protection so treasured spaces like the walled garden can continue making a positive impact for generations to come.
