A look back at this outstanding Patek Philippe ref.8, the largest example ever known. With its large cushion shaped case, preserved in excellent condition, with its wide lug gauge and beautiful open design, guilloche dial with gothic engraved enamelled numerals, this piece sits with serious stature on the wrist. To top it off, this piece remained with the original family from first purchase and as such was preserved in the most impressive of condition throughout.

This very rare 1919 Vacheron Constantin early women’s wristwatch features a platinum three part case with bassine back and snap on bezel. The centre case is incorporated into the original Platinum handmade bracelet. It also features a beautiful guilloché engine turned dial with engraved enamelled breguet numerals providing a point of contrast. This Patek Philippe ref.2431 features a large sculptural case with oversized ‘flame’ lugs. This iconic Emile Vichet case design has a real fluidity too, giving the impression that the lugs were twisted from molten gold. They seamlessly extend into the case band, resulting in a very impactful but harmonious case design. One of the finest examples of the reference, this piece has a very strong case with two strong hallmarks. The stern Frères engraved enamel dial is a delight and even the crystal is beautifully formed. Aside the great design and size of the 2431, and the excellent condition of this example, the 2431 is also highly sought after due to its great rarity, with very few examples of the reference known. This particular example is made even rarer as it is a 2nd series example featuring the calibre 12-400, for which only a small handful are known.
