⌛ ⏰ Less than 4 months to go until Umbraco 8's End of Life. That means no more security updates, and a high chance of v8 sites being targeted as vulnerabilities emerge.

There's no "best" upgrade path for sites on Umbraco 8 - every site is different. But there are often default options, all else being equal:

⚡ Fastest - Put up a new Umbraco 13 site and migrate essential content across. Probably best for small, simple sites. 2-3 Weeks tops.

🔐 Safest - Upgrade in place, carefully migrating or recreating any functionality. Couple months, but makes sure your site is good as new and everything works.

💷 Cheapest - possibly move to a lower-maintenance platform, reducing dev costs over time. Also a couple months, but over time could save you a ton if you don't need as much dev work.

What are the catches?

Well...

may mean you end up spending more on developers (but your Marketing staff will love it)
means you need someone who knows the tool well, and have great data collection already in place
tends to get you locked in to the Hubspot ecosystem. Which isn't bad on its own, but some parts may not suit or scale with your business well
