The term work-life balance has always challenged me.
It conjures an image of a scale with two sides to keep level and that simply isn’t how I experience life.
It isn’t how my clients say they experience life either.
But (as is so often the case) when you look to bioscience you find more relevant systems.
Systems that reflect the massive amount of nuance that goes into YOUR WORK.
YOUR LIFE.
Entire eco-systems - like human homeostasis - that can be extracted to serve you and your business.
It was so wonderful to bring this conversation to life at the by Enterprise Nation (hosted at King's College London) this Saturday.
For those of you that have requested the slides or made outreach because you missed the session - stay tuned - we are on it!!

Welcome to Brain Chat.
If you listened to Episode 4 of the podcast (link in bio), then you’ll know cultivating compassion - especially for those that don’t naturally inspire it - is focus are for me at the moment.
In an unexpected turn of events studying is bringing me so much closer to who I want to be.
So I’ve created Brain Chat.
A social series that breaks down heavy medical neurobiology into something we can all apply in our personal and professional lives.
Starting with….
Perception is a pretty involved process and we humans are not super awesome at navigating it without proper training.
Why?
There are stimuli coming at us from all over the place (like, loads).
And then we’ve got to covert that into energy (transduction).
Then we’ve got to send it (transmission) to the part of our brain that handles abstract thought and applies context (cerebral cortex).
This is where our sense of self lives. It’s called all sorts of things: self, soul… you pick what works for you!
But we don’t perceive things the same all the time (stimulus does not equal perception).
Why?
Modulation.
When we are perceiving we place the stimulus against a back drop.
Whether that is how we perceive the intensity of the light of our laptop on a sunny day or how we perceive the actions of an individual.
Are you aware of the backdrops you are applying or do you let them run on auto-pilot?
For some stimuli, like light automation is awesome! You don’t need to mess with that jazz.
But for your human interactions you may want to consider some manual overrides to make your world (and everyone else’s a better place).
Well that’s it for today’s installation of
Until next time, Ashlie x

Why teens and 20 something year olds can scale a multi 6-figure business in less than a year and you can’t⬇️
👉Your ego. Yes you built and own this business, but if you don’t accept the help, guidance and advice from others, it doesn’t go beyond you.
👉You can’t communicate well. Communication between teams, and between you and your team is essential. The day to day functioning of your business will suffer without this.
👉Your decision making is poor.
👉You haven’t identified the areas for growth.
Scaling your business isn’t easy. First you need a healthy mindset combined with healthy leadership. You also need to accept no one can do this alone.
Lucky for you, I can help you with this. DM me saying ‘scale’ if you’d like to know more.
