“Given this situation, what we are producing is about enough for domestic consumption,” he added.
The minister said India was never a traditional player in the international wheat market and export of wheat only began about two years ago.
“Last year 7LMT wheat was exported and majority was done within the last two months when the war between Russia-Ukraine developed”, he added.

After Finland's refusal to pay its natural gas provider Gazprom in rubles, Russia cut off the supply of natural gas to Finland on Saturday. This comes after Russia was incensed by Finland's application to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
About eight percent of Finland's overall energy consumption is derived from natural gas, the vast majority of which is imported from Russia.
