White Hart Lane, 1985 | A Quiet Portrait - Lower Block Photographed as a teenager by Marcus Davies, a quiet, black-and-white portrait of an old ground: fans on standing terraces, newspapers folded, radios humming, fashion unmistakably 1980s - football paused, patient, and deeply human.

Scottish Grounds 1990s | Tony Davis - Lower Block 11/07/2026

Scottish Grounds 1990s is a photographic series by photographer Tony Davis that celebrates Scottish football stadiums in the 90s.

The limited edition A5 zine contains 27 black and white photographs across 28 pages.

These stadiums had survived the test of time, braving the elements of decades of bleak, harsh winters coupled with the relentless tread of hundreds of thousands of dedicated fans as generation after generation followed in their forefathers’ footsteps.

Widespread stadia redevelopment had already arrived in some parts and was soon to blanket the British Isles, with seemingly new uniform structures replacing the old iconic grounds that gave each club its own identity.

Massive changes were just around the corner. But on these travels Davis discovered grounds steeped in tradition, each with a rudimentary, mystical feel. Uniquely quirky, they were a far cry from today’s modern lookalike stadiums.

“They were all quite magical. A ’Stadium Freaks’ paradise. Much of what you see in these photographs sadly is not there any more and it’s still changing all the time.” Tony Davis

It was all a blur.

At Euro 2024, Spain proved one step too far for Southgate's England in the final. Heartbreak too often part of the journey.

With favourites France and Spain already through to the semi's, England have the chance to join them tonight. Haaland, Ødegaard and co stand in the way - but here's hoping England send them rowing all the way back across the Atlantic.
