A sumptuous carpet from Azilal with a classic, natural beige background. Petrol blue lozenges are first introduced into the weave which quickly transitions into a looser, subtler pattern of greys and browns, almost fading and merging into the fringe at its opposite end. Early 2000s, 131 x 221 cm.

In every piece, each weaver reinterprets with mastery and creativity ancient geometric patterns specific to her own lineage, constantly updating a tradition that's always in flux. ⁠⁠⁠⁠

Introducing our first carpet...replete in warm shades of red, orange, pink and complemented by a faded yellow lozenge pattern that gently radiates through the composition. Different lengths and textures of blue, green, turquoise, beige, and red yarn are knotted to create a floating assemblage of geometric shapes, such as an octagram, a large diamond, and smaller rectangles. 1980s, 233 x 98 cm.
