๐ŸŽ‰ Exciting Announcement! ๐ŸŽ‰

Safe Steps, in partnership with Health Innovation Manchester and NHS Greater Manchesterโ€™s Bury Integrated Delivery Collaborative, has won the โœจ Best Use of Digital for Social Care award at the HTN - Health Tech News Awards! ๐Ÿ™Œ

In 2023, we teamed up with care homes, primary care, and the local authority to launch a digital initiative focused on early intervention for deterioration and falls prevention in Bury care homes. By using digital tools like RESTORE2 and our multifactorial falls prevention tracker, we achieved a 57% reduction in ambulance callouts across 37 care homes from January to March 2024! ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ‘

This award celebrates our commitment to improving patient care through innovative technology. We're incredibly proud and excited to continue making a positive impact in care settings across the UK. ๐Ÿ’™

Comments from the Carers โ€” safesteps โ€” Saving Lives โ€œI think maybe if I was using it when we had our first outbreak things could've been different because it might've linked me in with the services we needed".

Lee Omar is Best Peer

On Thursday February 26th, it was my privilege to receive the โ€œBest Peerโ€ award at the NIA Summit Awards 2020. In what turned out to be a lovely virtual ceremony, I was able to connect with my distinguished colleagues and celebrate the innovative work that was done in what turned out to be an incredibly challenging year. It was humbling to receive the award from Professor Stephen Powis himself, the National Medical Director of NHS England & NHS Improvement, whose work I have long admired. In the midst of the pandemic and national lockdown, I was honoured to sit in the same (virtual) room as someone who has been on the front line of vaccine administration and distribution.

When I embarked on the NIA journey, I didnโ€™t quite know what to expect. The NIA is an award-winning NHS England initiative. It supports delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan priorities by accelerating the uptake of high-impact innovations for patient, population and NHS staff benefit, and providing practical insights on spread to inform national strategy.
