What is low-carbon retrofitting?

Low-carbon retrofitting is a construction process that helps improve existing homes and make them more energy efficient.

Many homes within the UK, especially older builds, are prone to heat loss, which results in rising energy costs and bills. Low-carbon retrofitting has been introduced to try and combat these problems and to help the UK meet its target of reducing carbon emissions by 2050.

At Pathway Homes, we take a “whole-house approach” to retrofitting and utilise the most impactful and cost-effective measures in all of our developments. We focus on improving the fabric of each property and upgrading heat sources (including changing old, inefficient boilers to A-rated) to positively impact energy efficiency, reduce emissions and decrease energy costs.

The partnerships we have established add value to communities throughout the country and make a huge difference for those individuals and families in need of housing support.
