We’re looking for a WORKSHOP ASSISTANT to help support our engineering team in our growing number of EPOS repairs.

If you’re a local student between 16-18 looking to pick up a couple of hours’ work per week, this is the perfect role for you.

Full training will be given in-house so no experience is required – simply a can-do, active attitude!

Hours are flexible (Monday to Friday), based at our workshop in Yeadon.

Celebrating 30 Years of Shari Thompson at Microtek

This week at Microtek we had some time to celebrate the amazing dedication of Shari Thompson, who has worked for the company since 1992. Shari started her journey as front of house, dealing with telephone queries and admin. Speaking with Shari, we found out she was hired on the day of her interview; talk about a great first impression!

Throughout her many years of service, Shari progressed from front of house into an accounting based role. Learning Microtek from the inside gave her the insight of how the business ran in every aspect. From warehouse, booking-in, buying and recruitment. Shari considers her experience at Microtek very hands on right from the beginning. Now the Business Manager, its safe to say she worked her way to the top.

Speaking with Shari, she told us how "In some respects it doesn't feel like 30 years has passed, everything still feels new" despite so much having happened during her career. We are delighted to know she is still enjoying her time with the company and being a core member of senior management helping run the company on a daily basis.

Shari has forged many business relationships over the years, far too many across our customer and supplier networks to mention everyone, but she does pass on her regards and thanks to you all for your support over the years. When pressed, she has picked out some of her longest standing contacts from Greg@McDonalds, Brian@Fujitsu, Nick@Vista, John@Agilitas, Diane@EVCargo, Dan@QubeEpos, Nikki@Uniwell, Nick@Grants, and many, many more.

Lastly Shari drew attention to our Managing Director Rash Nila; "Rash has always supported us over the years, his dedication to the team and the company has been second to none". 

Good news for us, Shari wants to make it to 45 years.
