Today The Weavers' set off on day two of their 340-mile bike ride. 🚴

Today they're visiting HMP New Hall, where Together Women have had presence in our in-custody Women's Centre since 2007. Our unique positioning inside the prison means that we're able to provide holistic support to women navigating the challenges of custody as well as preparing for life after release.

The Weavers' are raising funds for our new project, NEST, to support young women and girls at risk of entering the criminal justice system.

Did you know?...
👉68% of women in prison report experiencing domestic abuse
👉82% of women in prison report having mental health problems
👉1 in 3 women in prison self-harm
👉44% of women leaving prison are reconvicted within a year

With early intervention, we can break the cycle of women being sent to prison. When supported in the community, women are not only less likely to reoffend, but also more likely to have their needs met.

Help us support even more young women and girls by donating to the project today:

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at our Leeds Centre for our Pride event today. 🏳️‍🌈

We had so much fun making jewellery and phone charms, decorating canvasses, colouring, enjoying some lunch and listening to our favourite pride playlists.

We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Pride month may be over, but we're always committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive space where everyone is valued, respected, and free to be themselves, not just in June, but every day of the year.

Fundraising can look however you want it to! 🤩

Last year, Together Women supporter, Jem, reached out with an idea. Jem wanted to bring together her friends and make new ones through a series of women-only events, all while raising funds for Together Women.

Here's a sneak peek of the first event, an evening of dancing and fun, which raised an incredible £340 for Together Women. 🪩

Jem is also supporting us by volunteering as a Peer Mentor and has just finished her training, ready to start supporting women. Thank you so much Jem. We can't wait to see what you're yet to achieve.

🤔Do you have a fundraising idea? Dancing and having fun is just one way to do it. Get in touch today!

One week to go! 🚴🪡

Next Monday, 5 incredible fundraisers from The Weavers' Company begin their 380 mile bike ride visiting 10 women's prisons across England.

They're raising funds for our new project to provide support to girls and young women who are at risk of contact with the criminal justice system.

The first £12,500 is match funded, meaning it has double the impact!

Thank you!

Today marks PTSD Awareness Day 2026.

There’s a group whose PTSD is often overlooked: women in the Criminal Justice System. For these women, trauma isn’t just part of their story, it’s often the reason their involvement with the Criminal Justice System starts.

Our data shows:
👉 PTSD is among the top six risk factors presented by women upon entering our support (sample of 682 Women’s Risk & Needs Assessment).
👉 A staggering 64% of assessed women present PTSD as a priority need.
👉 These needs are often deeply interlinked with poor mental health, past abuse, and victimisation, highlighting the prevalence of complex trauma among women in the criminal justice system.

Today, we hosted West Yorkshire Women's Intensive Supervision Court (ISC) Local Implementation Day. 🤩

The day brought together colleagues from the Ministry of Justice, HMPPS, Probation, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and service partners from Forward Leeds, Turning Point and more.

We were also joined by District Judge Charlotte Holland, Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire and Alison Lowe OBE, the Deputy Mayor for Police and Crime and Founding Trustee of Together Women.

Alison added: “The Mayor and I have committed to helping deliver a better criminal justice system for women, be they victims, survivors or perpetrators.

ISCs work with women from all 3 categories. The partnership will help women in the community to get the right help at the right time, making communities safer for all”

Women’s centres are central to the success of this new approach and we are incredibly proud that Leeds and Wakefield have been chosen for this pilot.
