Today is World Mental Health Day. An important day to recognise the importance of mental health and this year the theme is on workplace mental health. But let’s be honest, awareness is not enough. We need action. Investing in mental health is not just the ethical thing to do, it’s a cost-effective solution to a detrimental problem in workplaces. Deloitte reports that mental health costs UK employers over £50 billion each year. This is through productivity losses, absenteeism and presenteeism. So what can you do? Getting yourself / your team / colleagues trained in Mental Health First Aid training is an important first step. At HelloHope, we can help. We have an open Mental Health First Aid course for individual places in Leeds on November 11-12th.
