🏰 800 YEARS OF HIGH SECURITY (And not a single smart lock in sight!) 🔐
We took a trip down to the ruins of Old Inverlochy Castle in Fort William, and as locksmiths, we couldn’t help but look at it through a security lens!
Built in the 1200s by the Comyn family, this stronghold was designed to keep out the ultimate intruders (including Robert the Bruce!). Back then, "home security" looked a little different:
👉 Massive stone curtain walls
👉 Round corner towers to eliminate blind spots
👉 Thick wooden doors backed by heavy iron bolts
It survived two major, bloody battles and centuries of wild Highland weather. Talk about a lifetime warranty! 🛠️
While we don't install drawbridges or arrow slits, we do know a thing or two about making your castle unbreachable. Modern security might be a bit more subtle than a moat, but it’s just as tough.
