Even though the domestic season has ended, our officials continue to support Clubs with their 7's, 10's, friendlies and Charity Games.
Today VP Jess Butler and Ewen Scott were up in Thurso for Caithness Rugby FC Women's 7's and the Come Ashore Cup. They were joined in the middle by Katie Adams of Edinburgh Society , plus Ed Crozier and Alan McLean. A cracking day of rugby 🤩

🏉✨ What a fantastic night! A great time was had by all at our End of Season Dinner & Awards Night! 🍽️🥂

​🎤 We were absolutely honoured to have guest speaker and Ex-Premier Referee, Grant Wilson, in attendance. He was incredibly inspiring and had us all laughing with his great sense of humour, whilst also sharing some top refereeing tips! 😂🙌

🫶We also raised £400 for charity which will be split 50/50 to Doddie wire and the local Gerry Thornton young player support fund Ross Sutherland Rugby Club 💰💰💰

Highland Rugby Referees Society is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Scott Hastings.

Scott was a giant of Scottish rugby, a proud Scotland international, a British & Irish Lion, and a player whose contribution to the game was felt far beyond the pitch.

His passion, commitment and service to rugby made a lasting impression on generations of players, referees, supporters and volunteers across the rugby community.

At this sad time, we send our sincere condolences and sympathies to Scott’s family, friends, former teammates, and all who knew and admired him.

Rest in peace, Scott.

Second up, the Society were well represented at the 57th Annual Orkney 7's tournament last weekend.
Lucy Rendall Flett and Jess Butler officiated at the Youth Tournament on the Friday, and they were joined by Jo Inkster and Paul Stewart on the Saturday for a busy programme in challenging conditions 🌫🌬🌧🥶
