Starbeck Community Library

Our community library has been completely run by volunteers since 2017 and we are a registered charity in partnership with North Yorkshire Council. We have to raise £1000 every month to keep the library open. Please come along to our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, July 23 at 19:00 and hear how we've done over the last year. This is also a chance to help us plan for the next year. We are always looking for more volunteers and trustees.

We hope you'll come along to our 5th monthly talk on Thursday, July 30 to hear all about the Knaresborough Bed Race which celebrated its 60th year. Doors open at 18:30, each talk lasts about an hour or so. It should be an informative and lively evening for only £3 including a hot drink and biscuits. No need to book in advance.

Our tombola and cake sale has now been re-arranged on August 1, 10:00 - 13:00, which is also Yorkshire Day. What better way could there be than to support your community library by enjoying some home made cakes, browsing through our amazing book sale or buying a ticket for our tombola and book lucky dip. We have to raise about £1000 every month to keep our community library open, every little helps (apologies to a well known supermarket!)

Northern Powergrid has informed us that there will be no electricity in the library this Saturday, July 4. The library will have to be closed that day and we are re-arranging the tombola and cake sake on August 1, watch out for new details.
