We have seen a few unusual things while doing this job but a sump plug held in with Liquid Metal? All we can this is at some point this corsa was serviced and someone over tightened the sump plug and stripped the threads so decided to hide this from the customer and use Liquid Metal to hold the plug in place. We dont know how it was over tightened as it says on the sump 14nm which is the maximum force that should be used to tighten the sump plug.

Due to the damage that was done the only way to fix this was to replace the sump.

It didn’t take us long to do this and carry out a quick service at the same time.

This fiesta came to us for a service and MOT. When servicing it we noticed the indicator within the door mirror wasn’t working. The first this to check was the bulb but this wasn’t at fault. A few wiring checks later and it became evident we had a few broken wires. We found the damaged got this repaired and had a working indicator.

Well this brake pipe on this fiesta didn’t have much life left in it. We picked this up on MOT and found both front brake pipes to be heavily corroded. Luckily Ford make these brake pipes so we didn’t have to make new ones. It didn’t take too long to get the old ones off, fit the new ones and get everything bled up.

Brake pipes are often overlooked but when the corrode all the way through and burst this can cause a full brake failure which would be highly dangerous. That won’t be the case with this fiesta now.
