Camera gear advice, shot list, business tips and a few other pieces of advice for you all ππ»
I mean Iβve made plenty of mistakes (way more than I could fit on a carousel slide post) but ff I could go back and give myself advice when I first started, itβd probably be this ππ»
πΈ Get closer than you think.
π€ Stop chasing perfection. The best food often looks enjoyed, not untouched.
π₯ Photograph the experience, not just the plate.
β¨ Movement will almost always beat a static shot.
π‘ Master your lighting before upgrading your camera.
π° Charge for the value you create, not just the hours youβre there.
π€ Being easy to work with is just as important as taking great photos.
π½οΈ Restaurants donβt need 50 photos of the same dish. They need content that tells the full story.
The biggest lesson Iβve learnt?
Keep shooting and posting. The more you shoot the better you get. Chase quantity over quality. Quality will follow the more you practice. Even if itβs not paid jobs, push your skills and just take your camera out and about

10 creative shots for your next food shoot πΈπ½οΈ (save this)
One of the biggest mistakes I see with food photography is taking the same photo over and over again.
Same angle.
Same table.
Same composition.
A few simple changes can instantly make your content feel more creative and help your work stand out ππ»
π₯ͺ Shoot with a wide-angle lens to exaggerate the size of the food
π΄ Show the making of the dish, not just the finished product
π Add interaction with bites, pours and hands entering the frame
𧱠Use different textures and locations around the venue instead of only shooting at the table
π€ Pair food with drinks to tell more of the story
πΈ Mix flat lays, 45Β° angles and eye-level hero shots
β¨ Focus on texture by showing cross-sections and close-up details
The goal isnβt to create 10 completely different shoots (because that would just be too time consuming and not good business)
Itβs to find 10 different ways of looking at the same product
Let me know which shot is your favourite! ππ»

Content ideas for your next hotel trip ποΈ βοΈ (save for later)
People remember the moments.
π
Opening the curtains on the first morning
β Breakfast overlooking the sea
π An afternoon spent by the pool
π½οΈ Sunset dinners by the beach
π€ The small details throughout the stay
Thatβs exactly what I wanted to capture during my stay at The Bay Hotel & Suites π¬π·
From the private beach and sea views to the restaurants, pool and facilities, every part of the hotel felt like it added something to the overall experience. Instead of focusing on individual spaces, the goal was to tell the story of what itβs actually like to stay there ππ»
A tip for hotels, photographers and content creators ππ»
Donβt just photograph:
β The room
β The pool
β The restaurant
Photograph:
β
Waking up in the room
β
Swimming in the pool
β
Enjoying dinner at sunset
The best hospitality content makes people imagine themselves there.
Thatβs what turns content into bookings β
And if youβre a hotel looking for content that captures the full guest experience, drop me a message πΈ
