To get the most of your kart, learn what it does and how it does it.
Don't just drive it. There's more to it than pedals and a steering wheel. The whole kart is a dynamic piece of kit, and understanding that is important.

It's all about the numbers. Part 1 of 2.
Racing costs money.
The trick is spending it the right way.
The best investment is in coaching.
£100 spent on a session with a coach will give you more gains than £100 spent on 'go faster' bits for your kart and engine.
Who taught me this... It must surely be my coach because he'd benefit from this advice!
Nope. It was my engine builder
He'd rather people learnt to race properly, to then get the most out of the engine, than to waste money on an engine that you can't race the best out of.
This, and the fact he makes fantastic engines and gives all kinds of great advice, is why I use .
Engines... Don't ask the Internet how much oil to use, or what make... ask your engine builder. They will have set the engine up to run a specific way. I always follow what tells me to do with my engine, and it always performs strongly. If you don't follow your engine builders advice, you might end up spending lots of money on repairs...

Why focused race karts handle better than corporate hire karts... FLEX!!!
Hire karts like Team Sport have to be tough for the abuse they get from people with limited or no experience, who crash and bump into everything and everyone.
Focused race karts don't need to be built like a tank, which allows for them to flex, transfer grip and handle sharper and quicker. It's also why they can crack and bend over time - which is why it's always important to check them regularly.
We go to a guy called Darren Jones who is the Wizard of Weld, the Genius of Rejigging, and the Superstar of Straightening.
